Volume 15 Issue 1

Museum Members and Friends,

The oldest Ready Room newsletter we have on record was May 2013, written and edited by the precious and dedicated Joan Beaver. That issue had articles on the 2013 Gala that was held at the TAC Air hanger that year and had the Ladies for Liberty and DJ Doug Woodruff, both continuing their attendance this year at our 14th Annual Open Hangar Gala. Be sure to grab your tickets to this great fundraising event.

That October 2013 newsletter also stated they grew the membership by 55 people at the Rome Air Show that year. My husband Mark and I were part of that number. Is your membership up for renewal?  You can join or renew online!

Until next time!

The Naming of O'Hare Way

Doug Woodruff, President of the museum's Board, and the family of Pete O'Hare, including his wife Susan O'Hare, daughter Savannah O'Hare Mello, and son-in-law Sean Mello, attended the Paulding County Commissioners meeting to express gratitude to Paulding County for designating O'Hare Way at the Paulding County airport. This is the road from the Chattahoochee College Aviation Training Academy to the Museum's front door.

At the Hangar

The maintenance crew is still working on annuals at the Rome hangar while more work is continuing with the Howard as they move forward to transport it to Rome by disassembling the wings.

If you are interested in learning more about the Howard and helping in the restoration, contact Christine Lewis at director@mofts.org

Quimby's Corner

"It is my job to make sure they are all working safely at the hangar! I am here inspecting the cowl of the C-45."

Signed, Quimby

Happy Birthday, Gil Espy!

Gil is the MOF docent trainer and coordinator, a regular face at the museum, outstanding docent and a great guy!  Hope you had a great birthday, Gil.  (Pictured is Gil and his wife Sandy, another active and dedicated member of the museum.)
