Museum Members and Friends,
Last week, my mother (MOF member and "WWII Rosie Volunteer," Barbara Esler) and I were invited to the WWII museum in New Orleans to celebrate Rosie the Riveter Day. We were in good company, as we were joined by sixteen other “Rosies,” whose ages ranged from 88 to 103! The event was made possible by the kind assistance of American Airlines and the Gary Sinise Foundation.
The WWII Rosies arrived to banners and clapping from the airport to the press, tv crews and visitors honoring them as they entered the museum. They experienced banquets, speeches, photos with the Rosie the Riveter Congressional Gold Metal and other events over the course of 36 hours. The experience was surreal in many ways, mostly because these women didn't expect any praise for their contribution to the war effort. They are humble yet strong women impacting not only the war effort but also women in the workplace and the the civil rights movement.
If you have never visited, the WWII museum is incredible with the campus covering seven museum buildings, one building dedicated to STEM and one building for restoration. My thoughts went to future possibilities for the Museum of Flight... when dreams become a reality and where we might be in another 10 years.
I said all that to say... be sure to get your Gala tickets, our fundraiser for the museum and unique flying aircraft. Our museum has such an incredible mission and a tremendous future ahead. I hope you will be apart of that future with your financial and/or voluntary support.
Until next time! Becky McAllister Communications, MOF

SOUTHEAST COUNCIL OF AIR SHOWS
Christine Lewis, MOF Director, participated in the 2025 SECAS Summit in Punta Gorda, Florida. The summit provides an opportunity to network with others, gather resources and attend educational sessions from social media to the impact of weather on airshows.
|
According to Christine Lewis, "I had a blast helping get ready for SECAS with wing walkers Carol Pilon, and Laurie Breton!" She also enjoyed assisting Rob Carlson, the President of SECAS, with event preparations.
|
Quimby's Corner
"Of course, I was the queen of networking at the SECAS event. I also helped so many people put a smile on their faces!"
Signed, Quimby | | | |

At least once a year, an all pilot meeting is scheduled for our MOF pilots to go over plans, insurance and other critical material for the upcoming air show season! This year was no different. Notice the pilot in training, Brannigan Lewis, in the first row!
